St Christopher Primary is organised in four phases and within each phase we have two classes:

Foundation Phase = Nursery (52 part-time places) and Two Reception classes
KS1 = Year 1 and 2
Lower KS2 = Years 3 and 4
Upper KS2 = Years 5 and 6

We have at least one teacher to every class. Classes have no more than 30 pupils. There are additional teachers who work within Year Groups to enable us to meet the needs of pupils as much as possible. Each phase has a Standards Team Leader who is responsible for the Leadership and Management of a phase. We have a number of highly skilled Teaching Assistants who support learning in the classroom and many support staff who play a critical role in the running of the school.

Our school day begins at 8.55am with the children coming into school from 8.50am. We have regular assemblies that celebrate achievements, explore the world around us and help the children develop develop respect.

Foundation Stage
Our Foundation follow the Early Foundation Stage Curriculum. The children have a range of adult lead teaching sessions as well as lots of opportunities to apply their learning through purposeful play. Adults work alongside children to guide and challenge with different activities in both the indoor and outdoor environment.

Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
In the mornings we usually have Maths and English lessons. In the afternoons have lessons such as History, Geography, Science and other National Curriculum subjects. These subjects are often taught through a ‘Theme’ to help children link their learning.

Our lunchtime takes place from 12.00pm until 1.00pm in KS1 and KS2 and in Reception from 12.00pm until 1.15pm.  The school day finishes at 3.30pm.

We have a wide range of lunchtime and after school clubs such as Cross Country Club, Art Club, Computing Club and Football Club.

We have Music Teachers who provide lessons for drums and guitars.
