PSHE- Personal, Social and Health Education
Here at St Christopher Primary we teach PSHE using a scheme called Jigsaw.
What is PSHE?
PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of children, preparing them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.
What is Jigsaw?
Jigsaw is a PSHE Education programme with a whole school approach, with all year groups working on the same theme (Puzzle) at the same time. We have amended the lessons to reflect our principles and our children. We have also added other resources and lessons to enhance Jigsaw.
Jigsaw has two aims for all our children
To build their capacity for learning
To equip them for life
Jigsaw lessons are delivered once a week in each class. The children join in in circle time activities and mindfulness training, they play inclusive, thought-provoking games and undertake tasks in order to complete Jigsaw pieces and puzzles.
Each class has it’s own Jigsaw mascot and energy chime, which we use every lesson!

Jigsaw is structured into 6 half-termly Puzzles with the whole school studying the same Puzzle at the same time.
