Exceptional Leave

Coventry City council and the school’s recommendation is that you do not take your child out of school for a holiday. However, in exceptional circumstances, requests will be considered and authorisation from the Headteacher will be granted.  Unfortunately the cost of holidays is not considered to be an exceptional circumstance.  If you take your child out of school without authorisation, the absence will be recorded as unauthorised.

The majority of holiday requests are unauthorised and most parents will continue with their holiday as planned. Providing that the child’s attendance in school is generally very good, then no action will be taken by the school. The Headteacher would notify any parent who could be affected by further action by letter, on reciept of the holiday request.

If you wish to request exceptional leave then you need to request a form, from the office or you may download the form here: Application for Leave of Absence
