In torrential rain and strong winds, the girls kicked off the mini-tournament against Willenhall Primary with Kaycee in goal, Rosie in defence and Evie, Lily and Katrina in attack.  St Christopher stormed into a quick lead with Evie, Katrina and Lily all scoring well worked goals. Meanwhile Rosie worked tirelessly in defence leaving Kaycee with very little to do in the first half. Mr Coyle made changes in the second half introducing Mia, Cassidy and Tilly but the team continued to create chance after chance as the goal tally rose. To Willenhall Primary’s credit they never gave up and grabbed a consolation penalty at the end of the game. Final score: St Christopher 8 – 1 Willenhall

In the second game Ernsford Grange put up a very strong defence making it very difficult for the St Christopher girls. As the game went on however the chances started to come but good defending and great goalkeeping kept the game goalless. Ernsford Grange had a good chance at the very end of the game to snatch a late victory but the shot was sent spinning wide. Final Score: St Christopher 0 – 0 Ernsford Grange. Despite the blank score line the referee told the girls that he thought they were the best girls team he’d seen in a very long time.

With four points from two games St Christopher progressed through to the final which will be played at Christ the King on Saturday 28th November.
